Alas, I didn't get to go to any panels. I mainly hung out in the exhibitor area and saw Kim twice(!) but I didn't know it was her. I forgot to check Peggster before I got there. Still kinda bummed.

Ximena . I'm so sorry we didn't connect . . funny you actually saw me in the hordes of people that were there that Saturday!

I had fun, though was a bit miffed at the lack of Harry Potter merchandise ( unless I missed it all) . . and there were quite a few Potterheads rambling about - I know b/c they all asked to take pics with me in my Halloween costume/Professor Snape cosplay:

And of course, I tried to find pics of me w/ folks online and I can't find one . . except this one that someone took of me while I was busy tweeting and waiting for the Attack the Block panel . .



And I must remember next time to bring my good camera to every day of attendance. I didn't bring it Saturday b/c I was worried about lugging to much around, but I did that anyway. And I tried taking pics on my phone and it ran out of power just as I was in the front of the autograph session for The Avengers.

I did get pics with Kevin Sorbo, Cobie Smulders and Joe Cornish . . I participated in the HP wand dueling session, saw a game of Quidditch, missed John Landis:( . .walked my feet off, took many pics . . . all in all a fun couple of days!

I didn't see much HP merchandise either and the "Anime Fest" was kind of a joke. I also lost my friends for about an hour which was a bit scary since our cell phones stopped working. I felt like an abandoned six year old! :/

The wand dueling was all the way by the autograph tables in the annex at the Hasbro Stage. They only had 2 sessions. One on the Friday - and then one on Sunday for kids. I wish they had one on Sat. I would have gone again!

I expected more of the Anime Fest too. I thought I saw a few other vendors on the main exhibition floor that could have fit in good with it too. They should just put it all together in one section - like the cultyard area.

I was able to tweet while there - but I didn't try calling out. I ran out of juice - and tried plugging into a socket in the wall to recharge my phone - but it took so long, I gave up after 30 min or so.

I wish they had an area for people to go to recharge their phones . . also changing rooms for cosplayers. The lines in the bathrooms were a bit long.



Awww shucks, thanks Robb! I can't wait to wear it again . . though next time I might also want to go one day as Trelawney. Oh, and as Abby Sciuto too ( non HP character - but could be fun)

I've been to Otakon in Baltimore a couple times now and compared to the Balt. Convention Center, the Javitz just seems small and crowded and I agree with you, Kim, they should've had a better layout for both festivals.
It didn't occur to me to bring my wand...maybe next time.

This was my friend Donald's first trip to a con. Regrettably, he died in a car crash at the end of November. I guess I should work extra hard on having fun at my next one!

Just got the email about passes for next year's NYCC . . . I don't know yet if I'll be going. It will depend on our finances around that time.

I've been going back and forth whether or not I can swing this as I'm going to PAX in Seattle, Labor Day weekend and Horrorhound weekend in November. It'll probably be a next year thing unfortunately.

Yup! Both Robb and I got ours when presales for last year's attendees took place a couple months ago. Nicole gets a different kind of pass, so she'll get hers later. But our same little ragtag group looks to have survived the badge battle another year (there are five of us in total).

Now begins the skirmish for a hotel...
