Chapter 1
I was walking down the street staring at the people around me, they were bloody, missing body parts, and walked very slow.
I was confused, I didn’t know what happened. The day before everything looked fine but once I walked out of my motel everything was all screwy.
"Excuse me do you know what’s going on?" I asked a man, but he blankly stared at me as he tried to bite me.
"Whoa ok, I’ll take that as a no" I said as I continued walking, I sighed not knowing what to do now.
I then saw four people run out of a building, the three of them were hiding behind a blonde guy as he was hitting people left from right. In my eyes everything went slow and all I could see was him, a smile crept on my face as I watched him watched him smack someone in the head.
I soon got out of my daze when I realized he was about to hit me.
I put my arms up and covered my head with them.
"No don’t hit me, I’m alive" I shouted, he then slowly put his weapon down as I looked up at him.
"Oh I’m sorry, would you like to join us?" he asked me.
"Sure" I said as I followed the group to wherever they were headed.
A car speeded up next to us and stopped.
"Ok, it’ll be a bit cramped but…"
"Hey I have a car" I said butting in. the man looked at me and smiled.
"Great, we can take yours to the Winchester" the man said. A man and a woman ran into the green car as a blonde short haired girl stayed and got into my car.
"Ok, what’s the Winchester" I asked.
"Oh, it’s a pub"
I followed the car in front of me as I listened to the two of them talk, I knew they must be or have been a couple just by there body language.
"So are you two a couple?" I asked them.
"Oh no, we broke up yesterday" the blonde girl said.
"Oh, sorry to hear that" soon the green car in front of me stopped suddenly and the people inside ran out of it in horror.
The three of us looked confused as we got out of the car.
I saw a man was inside of the car but he wasnt himself anymore.
"Shaun your dad" the woman said.
"He’s not my dad, he’s my step dad" Shaun said.
"I’m not sure but I don’t think this is a good place to stand" I said as the zombies started to circle us.
"Oh right" Shaun said as the three of us ran into an alley where the others had gone.
We met with the rest of there friends relieved that everyone was alright.
"Who is she?" A man asked pointing at me.
"Oh she was still alive so I decided to let her join us" Shaun said "sorry what is your name?"
"I’m Sharice" I said "and yours?"
"I’m Shaun" the blonde guy said "this is Liz, Dianne, David, Ed, and my mum Barbara" Shaun said.
"It’s nice to meet all of you" I said.
"Right, shall we move along?" Shaun asked as the rest of us started to walk.
We basically walked through peoples backyards, there seemed to not be a lot of zombies there.
As we walked in one particular backyard I noticed that Barbara had stopped as he rest of the group went along.
"What is it Barbara?" I asked her.
"Its just one of my friends lives in this house, I wonder if there alright"
"I’m sure they are, we should keep moving" as I said that the owner came out and attacked Barbara.
I jumped back as I found a metal pole on the ground and picked it up, before he bit her I hit him in the head with the pole, he then collapsed to the floor.
"Thank you dear, that was close" she said.
"Yeah it was, come on" I said as I held her hand to help her walk forward.
We walked past the next fence and saw everyone else.
"Oh thank goodness you two are alright" Shaun said.
"Yeah your mom had a little problem with this guy, but I knocked him out" Shaun looked at his mom worriedly as the group continued to walk.
"Look there’s the Winchester over this fence" Shaun said, we all looked at the building, but Shaun soon told us the news of how many zombies were outside of it.
"Well the zombies cant be that smart, I bet if we tried to act like a zombie they wouldn’t even know the difference" I said.
"That might work" Shaun said, he then looked over at Dianne as she soon toke over and tried to show us how to act like a zombie.
"It isn’t really that hard, just pretend your drunk, and you have a bad leg" I said.
With that we all climbed over the fence and acted like zombies as I had suggested.
The plan worked until we actually got to the pub and found that the doors were locked.
We all tried to think of a safe way of how to get inside when Ed’s cell phone rang and he answered it talking to his friend.
I smiled, but Shaun got angry and smacked the phone out of his hand and started to yell at him.
I looked around and started to see that zombies knew we weren’t zombies anymore.
"Um Shaun I don’t think this a good time, isn’t there a back door or something?” I asked him.
"Actually there is" Shaun said.
"By the time we find it the zombies will have us" David said as hr grabbed a trash can and broke the window.
We all climbed into the window except for Shaun since he drew the zombies off himself.
"Well that was exciting" I said as I sat down.
"Exciting, we almost got killed" David said.
"Yeah that’s the exciting part" I said with enthusiastic.
David rolled his eyes as he walked away, everyone else sat next to me.
"So why did you and Shaun break up?" I asked Liz.
"Well we’ve been together for 3 years and nothing really changed, he didn’t keep the promises he told me" she said.
"Ah I see" I said.
"What if Shaun doesn’t come back" Dianne asked.
"He’ll come back" Liz reassured her.
We then sat there in silence when Shaun finally came back.
"What happened" Liz asked him.
"I gave them the slip" Shaun said as if it wasn’t a big deal.
He then sat down with us.
"I notice your American" Ed asked me.
"Yes I came here for my vacation, and then today everyone was turning into a zombie. I feel kind of ripped off though" I said, I heard some of them laughing at my comment.
"don’t worry after this is all over with, we’ll give you a great tour of England" Shaun said.
"Thanks" I said, I looked over at Liz and I noticed she didn’t look to happy.
"You know Ed can do a great reenactment of a monkey" Shaun said.
"Really, I would love to see it" I said but Ed shook his head.
"I’m not a performing monkey" Ed said.
"Oh come on Ed, just for me" I said as I touched his hand, he looked down at my hand and smiled.
"Ok" he said giving in, he did his monkey act and I was laughing through the whole thing.
"That was great" I said.
After we talked some more Shaun decided to go downstairs to see if he could get the power to work.
When the lights and power came on Shaun came back up but he had a very worried expression on his face.
"What is it Shaun?" Liz asked him.
He then told us how the zombies followed him and soon they appeared in front of the pub surrounding us.
We all stood there in shock, when I saw the manager of the pub pop out.
"Shaun look out" I yelled as Shaun turned just in time so he wouldn’t bite him.
Everyone got pool sticks and started beating the zombie with them; I noticed that it really wasn’t doing any damage. I propped up my pool stick and rammed it into the guy’s eye as the other end came out of the other side of his head.
The zombie fell to the floor.
"Good one" Ed said to me.
"Thanks" I said. David looked at the dead zombie and backed away until his back was facing the windows.
"David I wouldn’t stand there if I were you" I said to him in a cautious tone.
"Yeah David get away from the window" Dianne said.
"I don’t see the point of just waiting in here for the zombies to get us" David said.
"If we go outside then we’re going to be food for sure" I said.
But soon the zombies broke the window and grabbed David and violently ripped him apart as they ate his insides.
Dianne screamed as she went running into the crowd of zombies and disappeared.
"This isn’t good" I said.
Ed grabbed the gun from the wall and through it at Shaun.
"For the last time Ed it’s not loaded" Shaun said pulling the trigger as u bullet came out hitting a zombie in the head.
"Good shot" I said.
I then went behind the bar and grabbed some alcohol bottles.
"This isn’t the time to get drunk" Liz said to me.
"I’m not getting drunk" I said as I through an alcohol bottle on one of the zombies head and it shatter killing the zombie.
"You just need to get creative" I said throwing another one.
